Make Lemonade

Life didn’t exactly hand me lemons, but about three years ago I found myself at an unknowingly pivotal moment in my life. My husband and I had just moved across the country for his job, we were expecting our first child, and we were doing construction on our new home. At the time, I was a tax accountant and it was the first time I had the opportunity to space plan and design a home. I spent countless hours researching, carefully picking out fixtures and finishes and paint colors and I loved every minute of it. For me, it was the beginning of the end, and the start of something I never thought I would be blessed with the opportunity to do.

Yet, even though I was completely smitten with design, it was not an easy decision to change paths, go back to school, and retrain as an interior designer. It’s hard to walk away from what you know, even if it is for something better suited. Ultimately, my deep love for my daughter propelled me forward. If I was going to work (and I was), I wanted to do something that would bring me fulfillment and make me a better version of me, for her. So with the full support of my husband and our families, I dove in. I worked hard to learn my craft, be present for my family, and pursue my my dreams.

The nerd and the perfectionist in me will never stop searching to learn more, but a few years and a few projects later, I am so thrilled to be opening my own interior design studio. Thank you for being here. I can’t wait to share this journey with you - the tips, the tricks, the behind the scenes, and maybe even my own special recipe for lemonade.
